County should pay like everyone else

We all benefit when we invest locally. Many businesses and nonprofits make it policy to buy locally to strengthen our communities and county.

Why do the county commissioners seek an exemption from paying fees that the rest of us pay?

Paying the fees on the new county administration building will help Cortez maintain and make improvements to infrastructure and services that will benefit businesses, local citizens and visitors. It seems like they do not want to improve our local community. This seems very short sighted and lacking in leadership.

The county commissioners should live up to their pledge to serve the people of this county, which includes the city of Cortez.
