The Dolores Elementary Girls on The Run (GOTR) group raised $106.00 which was then donated to For Pet’s Sake.
GOTR is a 10-week after-school program for girls in grades 3-5 that encourages positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.
A component of the program is a Community Impact Project that the girls imagine, design and implement. The Dolores team, consisting of 19 students, decided to host a bake sale at the elementary school during parent-teacher conferences. The money raised was then presented to Sherry Valley, a For Pet’s Sake volunteer.
Valley met with the team and gave information on the For Pet’s Sake mission and volunteer staff and spoke of their services including foster care for animals awaiting adoption, spaying and neutering financial assistance and Adopt a Doghouse Project.
