Southwestern Cowbelles met at the Elks Lodge on Tuesday, April 19. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Mary Ellen McComb at 2 p.m. with 13 members present.
The first order of business was the installation of new officers, also conducted by Mary Ellen McComb. New officers are: President Beverly Humiston; Vice President Lisa Tozer; Secretary Sue Simmons; Treasurer Pat Rule; Reporter Sammie Coulon; Historian Tammy Russell.
Minutes from the March meeting were approved, and the Treasury report was read and approved. Courtesy cards were sent to the family of Leona McCabe, and Richard Kipp was sent a get-well card. The budget for the year was approved, and in committee reports, Sue Simmons reported that another box has been sent for the troops; a $450 donation was received for this project. Mary Ellen McComb reported that the napkins are currently at the printer. The booths at the Ag Show and the Home and Garden Show were a success, as was the yard sale and bake sale.
The Southwestern Cowbelles are planning a new cookbook and would like to have recipes from everyone; if you have one to share, contact Carol Taylor at 565-8485. The next blood drive is set for May 5 at the First United Methodist Church at 515 N. Park St., and runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Carla Koppenhafer was the winner of the mystery gift.
Our next meeting will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at the Elks Lodge, 2100 N. Dolores Rd.
