Are you ready for the Balloon Festival?

The 11th Annual Mancos Valley Balloon Festival and Street Fair, scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 through 4 p.m. Sunday, has announced its call for vendors.

The annual event takes place along Grand Avenue between Main Street and Mesa.

Check in and setup will be from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Check in at the Visitor Center at 101 Bauer Ave.

Guidelines for vendors

Vendors may unload on Grand Avenue, set up the booth and drive to the parking area. Vendors will receive a dashboard parking permit. There is no vendor parking on Grand Avenue.

No breaking down before the close of the event is allowed. Contact an event coordinator to leave early, or face disqualification you from future events.

Vendors are responsible for providing own setups - chairs, tables, tents, etc. Signs, tents and furnishings must be secured so they don't blow away or cause physical injury or property damage.

Food vendors must be approved by Montezuma County Health Department before filling out an application.

Vendors using liquefied gas must have a first-aid kit and a 5-pound ABC fire extinguisher or two 2½-pound fire extinguisher at their booth.

The sale of articles considered potentially harmful or dangerous to the health, safety, or comfort of participants is prohibited. Vendors attempting to sell any of these items will be closed without refund of fees.

Limited security will be provided, so all vendors should take valuable items down with them during the night. The Artfest and Street fair will not be responsible for theft of items. Vendors are required to keep booth area free of trash, paper and refuse at all times.

Electricity is very limited and there will be an added $10 fee for use. Contact Marie Chiarizia at 970-533-7434 for a booth with electricity.

Vendors must have a town sales permit. This is a one-time fee of $10 for first-time vendors. Get a form at: bit.ly/VendForm

Vendors also need a sales tax license from Colorado, for which there is a $4 fee. Get a license at: bit.ly/VendLic. The Mancos sales tax is .04 percent. Vendors will receive an envelope to report your tax to the event coordinator.
