SCCC prepares for Aug. 24 start

Classes at Southwest Colorado Community College start Aug. 24, and new student orientations will be on the West Campus between Mancos and Cortez, 33057 U.S. 160, on Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m.

All new students need to attend one orientation session. Orientation will include information on student success, educational pathways, resources available to students and navigating technology.

It is not too late to register. SCCC offers a variety of guaranteed transfer classes, associates degrees and numerous certificate programs including: automotive service, cosmetology, certified nurse aide, medical assistant, pipe welding, early childhood education and emergency medical technician.

New student orientations will also be held on the East Campus in Durango on Monday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 701 Camino Del Rio.
