The city of Cortez and the Colorado Department of Transportation have scheduled a second public meeting on the access plan for U.S. 160 between Maple and Patton streets on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 5–7 p.m. at the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 Roger Smith Ave.
The city and CDOT are studying the corridor to improve traffic and pedestrian safety and to preserve traffic capacity.
Officials plan to update the public on the access control plan and roadway reconfiguration, and give residents a chance to provide feedback about preliminary plans for corridor.
A presentation at 6 p.m. will include illustrations of options for the corridor and other project information. Participants will be able to weigh in with their preferences through a keypad poll. Members of the project team will be available for questions and comments.
The project team also is scheduling individual meetings for business owners in 20-minute blocks of time on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City Service Center, 110 West Progress Circle.
