The Lady Blue Jays fell to Ignacio 61-26 on Tuesday at the Mancos Performance Center, playing a game that had been snowed out a week before.
Ignacio brought a storm of their own.
Going off for 12 of the Bobcats’ 16 first-quarter points, junior guard Avionne Gomez finished with seven three-pointers and a game- and season-best 30 points in barely three quarters.
Ignacio led 35-16 at halftime of the 2A/1A San Juan Basin League matchup and held the Jays to just four points in the third quarter and six in the fourth.
Senior Brittney Peacock paced Mancos (2-10, 1-7 SJBL) with 13 points, including 7-of-8 free throws. Sophomore Emily Cole scored seven points, freshman Isis Jaime had four, and senior Emma Most had two.
