Click It or Ticket Campaign starts

The Colorado Department of Transportation's Click It or Ticket campaign is taking its initiative after hours with a statewide nighttime seat belt crackdown July 20 through Sunday, July 26.

CDOT is teaming up with the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and local law enforcement agencies to cite unbuckled motorists, hoping to raise Colorado's seat belt use rate and decrease avoidable unbuckled fatalities. The nighttime enforcement begins on Monday, July 20 and runs through Sunday, July 26.

In 2014, 156 people killed in passenger vehicles were not wearing their seat belts, according to preliminary data. This represents more than half of the total passenger vehicle fatalities for that year.

Distillery presents Little Wilderness

The Mancos Valley Distillery presents Little Wilderness on Friday, July 31. Doors open at 5 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m. Cover charge is $3, and "Tastes Like Friday" cocktails will be served.

In the summer of 2011, Paul Henderson invited his friends Daniel Szabo, Juan Lopez, and Quanah Lansing over to jam, and as a result Little Wilderness was formed.

Little Wilderness' original tunes are an eclectic gathering of groove oriented songs that reflect the soul and spirit of indie rock, punk rock and Americana rolled up in a fun package. They have played gigs around Durango and are working on recording their new album.

The band is composed of Paul Henderson (lead vocals and guitar); Daniel Szabo (back-up vocals and lead guitar); Juan Lopez (bass); and Quanah Lansing (drums).
