Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance invites you to celebrate its first birthday on Saturday, April 5, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, 23390 Road K, Cortez.
The celebration includes: a presentation about the “State of the Alliance” and the year ahead; snacks and beverages; a silent auction including guided tours, Southwest art and vacation packages.
Also, Dr. John Kessel will present his most recent work, Miera y Pacheco: A Renaissance Spaniard in Eighteenth Century New Mexico. Don Bernardo de Miera y Pacheco is best known in our area as the cartographer for the Dominguez-Escalante expedition from Santa Fe to the Great Basin in 1776.
