Neuroscientist takes stage at Punk Science lecture

The Pinhead Institute presents the second installment of its six-week Punk Science lecture series for kids of all ages featuring neuroscientist Joel Finkelstein on “Science or Science Fiction? Controlling the Brains of Animals with Lasers.”

The Punk Science lecture series is at the Cortez Cultural Center Plaza on Wednesdays from July 1- Aug. 5, 5:15 to 6 p.m. Kids who attend all six lectures will get a chance to win a GoPro. Admission is free.

Joel Finkelstein is a graduate student in neuroscience and psychology at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and 2013 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. At Stanford University he helped found The Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) as its Project Coordinator.
