Are Latin Americans exceptional as well?

Did you hear the one about the Latina mother who tried to commit suicide in one of our family detention centers? Yah, even I have no punch line for that.

So as I was reading more about this woman, and her child, being stuck in what I am going to call a family internment camp. I noticed we only have three of these camps for illegal immigrants in all the U.S. – two in Texas and one in Pennsylvania. I find this odd for two reasons. The first being that the same politicians saying how great an idea a “family internship” is, are also the ones who scream about American exceptionalism.

Considering one of the politicians was born in Panama and demanded to see Obama’s birth certificate I had hoped for better geography. The Americas consist of two continents and many islands. If you don’t like Latinos then maybe you should clarify who exactly is exceptional.

The other thing which I find weird is the fact that last I checked we have more Asian illegal immigrants then Latin. Have for almost 10 years now. I can’t help but ask why no intern camps in California, Oregon maybe Washington? Or would an inadvertent Asian hipster pic send us back in time? Don’t worry Latin people in 70 years we should forget about this.
