Monday, June 1

11:44 a.m. A man on the 24000 block of County Road P reported that his mailbox was damaged.

2:37 p.m. A man near County Road 29 and County Road P.5 reported that he found a mailbox. After moving it to the roadside, the man called police, concerned that his fingerprints could be on the mailbox.

Tuesday, June 2

12:30 p.m. A man on the 21000 block of County Road N reported that someone stole his plastic mailbox.

1:53 p.m. A woman on the 10000 block of County Road 23 reported that a battery and battery box powering an electric fence were stolen, a loss of $300.

9:10 p.m. A man on the 25000 block of County Road N reported that his $20 mailbox was stolen.

Wednesday, June 3

6:30 a.m. A Montezuma County road department official reported that a property owner on the 23000 block of County Road N was wasting irrigation water. The property owner was ticketed with obstructing the highway.

7:44 p.m. A woman on the 23000 block of County Road F.5 reported a neighbor was suspected of manufacturing meth. The woman complained the home smelled of cat urine and there was a large amount of trash in the yard.

8:47 p.m. Deputies responded to the Vista Verde Trailer Park for a disturbance involving two men. One man suffered a cut on the back of his head and a bloody nose. The other was arrested for violating a protection order.

Thursday, June 4

12:23 p.m. Deputies responded to a theft at L&L Storage. Comics, toys, broken dolls and Native paintings and drawings valued at $3,500 were reported stolen.

7:43 p.m. A woman on the 31000 block of County Road P complained that a man and woman were driving a four-wheeler in a reckless manner.

Friday, June 5

4:16 p.m. A woman reported that her debit card was stolen and four transactions were made at Food Lion totaling $686.90.

6:49 p.m. A man reported that two horses on the 6000 block of County Road 24.2 were in poor health. Deputies noted the horses had no water or feed and arranged for a veterinarian to check on their welfare.

Saturday, June 6

10:13 p.m. A deputy witnessed a suspicious vehicle driving fast in the Cortez Cemetery. The Iowa driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Florida.

Sunday, June 7

12:49 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a gas station on U.S. 491 about a counterfeit $50 bill. He reported that he would review surveillance footage.
