The Dolores Ranger District is in the process of removing hazardous trees from the Ferris Campground, which will delay the campground’s opening in June.
Ferris Campground is located off Forest Road No. 504 on the Dolores River.
Standing dead and diseased box elders will be removed to protect the safety of visitors. Closure signs will be posted, and the campground will be opened as soon as all hazardous trees are removed.
