A couple mornings over the past couple of weeks I have noticed a city of Cortez employee using water to wash the curbs and gutters along Main Street. The water is supposed to be used to water the trees, shrubs and flowers that help keep our city beautiful. If I’m mistaken then I’ll apologize, but shouldn’t we use our fleet of street sweepers to clean those gutters and save our precious water for something a lot more meaningful?
