I would like to thank a few exceptional men. I have worked for Southwest Contracting for 30 years, and we are in the final stages of closing.

I was one of the fortunate ones to be employed by the original owners Cal Rickel and Dave Soderberg. They conducted the business with high principals, values & standards. With their knowledge, experience and skills they led SWC to being admired for their acheivements. I have the utmost respect for them. They sold SWC to Tim Meyer, and he continued with the same values. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he was forced to sell SWC, so Steve Franchini and Roger Bauer took the reins. Again these two men continued to run SWC in an impressive, high standard. Roger soon retired selling his part to Dave Crocker of Albuquerque. Roger was and still is a close friend. I saw Steve Franchini and Dave Crocker continuing with outstanding work.

So at this time I would like to express my deepest appreciation of being part of a distinguished company for 30 years. I am so thankful I was able to work for and with such amazing talented men. I want to especially thank Steve for his outstanding leadership and his complete trust and confidence in me. I will retire now with mixed emotions, happy to be home with my wife & family but somewhat sad to be ending SWC. Thank you to staff and employees, you all made SWC what it was by your dedication and devotion. I feel it is a great loss for Montezuma County.
