Wednesday, Feb. 26
10:46 a.m. An officer responded to Southwest Memorial Hospital to the OB ward for a report of a possible protection order violation. The woman in labor was afraid the father of her baby would violate a protection order so he could see the baby. With the help of security, the father was able to see the baby and stay away from the mother, but the mother called police later and showed the officer a series of 21 text messages arguing about the baby’s name, which violated the protection order. Both the father and the mother were issued summons for protection order violations.
12:57 p.m. A woman was arrested and issued summons for kidnapping and domestic violence near the 200 block of S. Elm St. after she allegedly would not let a male in the home leave, was yelling at him, throwing matches at him and threatening to kill him with a knife.
Thursday, Feb. 26
12:17 a.m. An officer responded to the area of Main Street and North Market Street for a report of broken windows at a business.
5:47 a.m. An officer was called to a business on East Main Street for a burglary report. Someone reportedly entered the business through a window, took about $560 in cash and left a half-eaten burrito, spilled coffee and urine on the floor.
8:06 a.m. An officer responded to another business for a report of a cold break-in near the 10 block of West Main Street. The business owners reported that someone had broken in, but nothing was reportedly missing. The person had attempted to break the screen of a security system and damaged a screen in a window.
Friday, Feb. 27
7:55 a.m. A business on East Main Street reported that someone had entered the business by removing window screens and going through a window. A company vehicle was reported missing and later located north of West Fourth Street with heavy damage to the left front and slight damage to each corner of the vehicle.
Wednesday, March 1
8:12 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a business for an alarm on North Harrison Street. Officers observed a broken window and found a juvenile male walking away from the building. After the juvenile was stopped, officers found a clear sandwich bag with marijuana inside in the juvenile’s pocket. The juvenile’s mother was called. When the juvenile was asked why he entered the building, he said he saw a refrigerator and was hungry. The boy was issued summons for burglary, damage to property and possession of marijuana and left in the care of his mother.

8:22 a.m. A business on East Main Street reported a break-in. Someone pried open the rear door of the business and took the cash drawer.
