Wednesday, Feb. 25

11:34 a.m. A deputy responded to the 10000 block of Road 26 for a report of a stollen spool wire from her property.

Thursday, Feb. 26

5:25 p.m. A Dolores resident reported that a snow plow from the Town of Dolores struck his vehicle. The plow damaged the rear tail light and dented the vehicle below the tail light. The deputy photographed the damage, the yellow paint transfer and tire tracks.

Saturday, Feb. 28

6:31 a.m. A deputy was called for a report of a semi-trailer stuck on a curb at the Maverick Country Store, 10223 Highway 491. The driver stated he had just pulled in to use the restroom inside the store when he struck the curb, damaged it and got stuck. A damage report was taken, and a tow company was called to assist the semi truck.

12:34 p.m. A deputy was called to the 36000 Block of Road G.6 for a report of a dog at large. The owner, when contacted said, “You’re here about my dog again?” The man said he didn’t currently know where the dog was and was issued a summons for a dog not under control.

Tuesday, March 3

1:35 a.m. A man suspected of driving without a valid license was pulled over near Road F.5. When the man pulled over, he got out of his vehicle and was given verbal commands to show his hands. He held up his hands and said, “Well, you caught me,” and dropped down to his knees. The man was only wearing white shorts, which were covered in blood. The man had cuts on his hands and was taken to a nearby hospital. The vehicle was released to a valid driver, and the man was issued a summons from driving while license under restraint. No word on why he was covered in blood.

10:53 p.m. A woman was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving after a deputy pulled over her blue Ford Mustang because the license plate lamp was inoperable. The woman explained she knew about the lamp, but smelled of alcohol and was asked to do roadside tests. Based on those results, she was issued a summons and taken to Montezuma County Jail.

11:45 p.m. A blue Ford Mustang was observed with an inoperable license plate lamp on U.S. 160. The man said he was driving the vehicle because his sister had just been arrested. The man had a revoked driver’s license and was arrested for driving with a revoked license.
