Express your love and contribute to a great cause at the Annual Sweetheart Ball sponsored by the Cortez Cultural Center.
On Feb. 14 the traditional Valentine’s Day party will be held at the Baymont Inn and Suites overlooking Mesa Verde.
“Enjoy a beautiful evening with good friends or your special someone,” said Donna Steward, executive director of the center. “There will be live music, dancing, and great local food.”
Meals will be provided by Absolute Bakery, The Farm, and Once Upon a Sandwich, plus others. The event is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The fundraiser is crucial for continuing favorite events such as the Native Dancers, art exhibits, music shows, lectures, theatrical performances, as well as keeping the gift shop going.
“Show your support for the Cortez Cultural Center and all the programs we bring to our community,” Steward said.
Live music will be performed by Marilyn Kroeker’s Sweetwater Station, and also by Bob Newman and Friends. There will be a silent auction and complimentary photos in the atrium. Exhibition dancing will be done by Come Dance Tonight.
The Baymont is offering a special overnight package for $225. The deal includes two tickets to the Sweetheart Ball, the King Room with jacuzzi, sparkling wine, and a continental breakfast.
Tickets for the ball are $50 each.
