Rotary announces 2012 Bingo schedule
The Dolores Rotary Club will sponsor bingo nights for the following beneficiaries on Tuesday evenings. All events will be held at Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave. in Dolores:
Jan. 27: The Bridge Emergency Shelter
Feb. 24: Disabled American Veterans
March 31: Dolores Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization
April 28: Dolores High School (Ireland trip)
The evening kicks off with a light supper, for a $5 donation, at 6:30 p.m., with Bingo at 7 p.m.

School board to meet Thursday night
The Dolores School Board of Education is expected to meet Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. in the District Office board room at 100 N. Sixth Street. Board members are expected to hear an update on assessments and the construction project.
Board members are also expected to discuss the career fair and library improvements.
SCCC offers Spanish for professionals
Southwest Colorado Community College is offering a one-semester Spanish language for medical professionals this spring.
SCCC designed the curriculum to the needs of a variety of medical professionals including unit clerks, nurse aides, nurses, doctors as well as those in allied health career fields.
The primary focus of the course will be on vocabulary needed to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.
The three-credit class will meet Wednesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center.
The course runs from Jan. 21 to May 13, and is open to the public.
