The Taste of the Seasons fundraiser raised $13,000 for United Way of Southwest Colorado.

The local tradition held at Four Seasons Greenhouse features locally created cuisine made from farm-fresh ingredients.

This year, 20 local restaurants participated, and 350 tickets were sold, said organizer Gail Vanick.

“The community has been very supportive for the 16 years we’ve put on this event,” she said. “The variety was great, and it was a showcase of our great restaurants.”

The funds go toward local programs that benefit children, said Bruce Johnson, community relations coordinator for United Way.

“The Taste of the Seasons’ fundraiser is 10 to 15 percent of our total budget,” he said.

The money helps support Community Connections, Dove’s Nest, Four Corners Child Advocacy, Girl Scouts, Medicine Horse Center, Montezuma County Health Department, Renew, Southwest Open School Health Clinic, and Pinon Project.

Applications for funding from United Way to aid youth programs are being accepted.
