Rep. Scott Tipton has received the Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence by the National Association of Manufacturers.

The award acknowledges Tipton’s work in Congress on behalf of manufacturers across the 3rd Congressional District and nation.

“We have worked in Congress to increase trade opportunities for American goods and to advance policies that encourage and incentivize manufacturing here at home,” said Tipton.

From Pueblo to Grand Junction Tipton has visited with manufacturers that provide good paying jobs and opportunities in our communities.

Tipton has held numerous manufacturing roundtables and job fairs in the district, and championed pro-growth policies in the House Committee on Small Business to expand opportunities for U.S. manufactured goods in the global marketplace.

“Manufacturers in Colorado and throughout the United States are making a comeback, creating jobs, making more products and making them better than ever before,” said NAM Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse. “However, manufacturers are often disproportionately impacted by decisions made by policy makers in Washington.”

Today Tipton voted to advance legislation to cut red tape at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) causing delays of new manufacturing facilities in the United States. The Promoting New Manufacturing Act (H.R. 4795), which passed the House with bipartisan support, seeks to reduce permitting delays in the preconstruction permitting process at the EPA, as well as increase transparency in that process.
