M-CHS putting on play this weekend

The Montezuma-Cortez High School Theatre Groupe presents Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night as a western comedy, Friday at 7 p.m. at the M-CHS Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.

On Saturday, the group presents a matinee at 1 p.m. and an evening show at 7 p.m.. Both performances are at M-CHS Auditorium. Tickets for both shows are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.

Mancos Arts presents membership show

The Mancos Valley Arts Council will present a membership show, running through Jan. 9 at the Mancos Visitors Center, 101 E Bauer Ave,, Mancos. The Visitors Center is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

There will be a reception Friday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Great American Smoke Out

The Great American Smoke Out is on the third Thursday of November every year.

This year, on Nov. 20, join representatives from the Montezuma County Public Health Department will be for a free cup of tea or coffee at San Juan Coffee Co., 508 E. Main St., Cortez.

Stuff the Bus event will be Saturday

KRTZ-FM and its sister stations with American General Media are teaming up for the largest single-day food drive in the area on Nov. 15.

It’s called Stuff the Bus, and KRTZ-FM and its partners are looking to re-stock the shelves of the Good Samaritan Center in Cortez with the donations received on that day.

Volunteers will be at Walmart in Cortez on Nov. 15, accepting donations and broadcasting live on KRTZ (98.7FM) and KISZ (97.9FM) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
