The Cortez Galaxy U10 girls soccer team placed first in Socctoberfest Invitational Tournament, which was held in Farmington on Nov. 1-2.
Members of the team were Maya Ross, Janae Boyd, Analisa Vega, Savannah Neely, Marixa Robinson, Jayden Thomason, Makayla Waymon, Izabella Balfour, Anna Jensen. The Galaxy was coached by Nate Ross and Jason Thomason.
“This was the first year this team was together and we had a fantastic season,” said Ross. “We only lost once.”
While the majority of the team’s members will break for the winter, Ross said that he expects the Galaxy to return to action in Spring.
