Mancos plans Dia de los Muertos

A Dia de los Muertos celebration is planned for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Mancos school campus.

A parade with music and giant puppets will lead toward the Mancos Football field. After the parade, the celebration continues with music, art, history and food booths till 7:30 p.m.

The event is free, and food will be available for purchase.

Montezuma Dolores Caregiver Forum

Caregivers of elders will gather on at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 13 for 4th Annual Caregiver Forum at the Cortez Senior Center, 107 N. Chestnut St., Cortez, CO.

A complimentary breakfast and lunch are included. Educational sessions, panels of experts, a provider fair, mini-health and wellness fair, door prizes and planned.

This is a free event geared to professionals and family caregivers.

Stage Stores to hire seasonal employees

National department store retailer, Stage Stores, Inc., will hire 3,000 part-time seasonal employees to assist with the upcoming holiday shopping season for their stores which include well-known names Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage.

“The holiday shopping season is one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year for our stores, by adding our additional associates we hope to make the shopping experience easier for our customers,” said Tim Moyer, vice president of human resources at Stage Stores, Inc.

Seasonal employees will enjoy a fun and fast-paced workplace, flexible work schedules and a 20 percent employee discount, while working at one of the 858 locations. The additional employees increases the current employee size by approximately 30 percent.

Great Clips offers free haircuts for vets

Great Clips, the world’s largest hair salon brand, is giving veterans a free haircut from Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, through Dec. 31.

Customers may go into any Great Clips salon on Nov. 11 and, with the purchase of a service, receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran. There is a limit of one card per customer.

The free haircut cards are redeemable by veterans at any U.S. Great Clips from Nov. 11-Dec. 31, 2014 with proof of service.

The promotion applies to veterans only.

Veterans who visit Great Clips in the U.S. on Nov. 11 receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31.

After Nov. 11, veterans must have a free haircut card to get the free haircut.
