Elisa Mullikin, of Mancos, recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western State Colorado University in Gunnison on May 10, 2014 with Gov. John Hickenlooper as the keynote speaker. She received her degree in cellular and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry. She also presented her research project in biochemistry regarding genetic modification of yeast strains to the Western faculty. She completed a research internship at Spine Colorado in Durango her final semester. Elisa was also athletically involved at Western being a member of Western’s cross-country, indoor track team and outdoor track teams. Elisa is a graduate student at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, pursing her master’s degree in physician assistant studies. She was a 2010 graduate of Mancos High School and is the daughter of Kevin and Annette Mullikin, of Mancos.
