Rodeo team does well in Craig

Competing in Craig, Colo., Sept. 6-7, members of the of the Ute Mountain High School rodeo team enjoyed solid results.

Among the most successful team members were team ropers Cade VanSolen and Lance Stevens, who placed first in the team-roping event on both Sept. 6 and Sept. 7.

Also performing well for the Ute Mountain team was Stormi Pitman, who placed third in the goat tying on Sept. 7.

Other top placers for the Ute Mountain team included Cammie Maxwell, who finished third in the barrel racing on Sept. 7, Whitney Finley, who finished fourth in the breakaway roping on Sept. 7 and Cassie Finley, who finished fifth in the goat tying on Sept. 6.

After taking some time off, the Ute Mountain team will next travel to Grand Junction for a two-day rodeo, Sept. 20-21.
