Soloist Inbal Segev joined Arthur Post and the San Juan Symphony in October 2012 for the orchestra’s performance of Friedrich Gulda’s Concerto for Cello and Wind Instruments at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.

The San Juan Symphony, back by popular demand after last year’s premier performance in Cortez, opens the 2014-15 season for SouthWest Colorado Concerts with a program of modern and classical music on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Montezuma-Cortez High School Auditorium.

Led by internationally acclaimed music director Arthur Post, who is joined once again by the violin soloist Odin Rathnam, the orchestra will perform “Slam,” a new composition by young composer Paul Haas, a selection of romantic showpieces featuring the formidable technique of Rathnam and the standard for artistic vision and perpetual favorite, Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

Season tickets will be on sale at the door beginning at 2 p.m. Season tickets for the four-concert 2014-2015 season are $45 for adults and $10 for youth 18 years old and younger. Single-concert tickets will be sold for any open seats beg inning at 2:40, $20 for adults and $5 for youth.
