The Dolores Chamber of Commerce has a fresh new look online. Check it out at doloreschamber.com. Dolores Chamber manager Rocky Moss says she has been working hard on it since the tourist season has slowed down. Still, hunters and fall weather lovers are in town, as well as others hoping to get a last taste of summer. Businesses reported they have been busy.

The Pig's flying high

If you haven't been to the Flying Pig lately, you should stop by. The clothing store's new space at 501 Central Ave. suits them well. Be sure to say hi to Betty Beals, Marilynn Huseby, Dorthea Fury, Helene Proffitt or Jo Lancaster. All five are partners and have planned some exciting events.

On Sept. 26 and 27, the ladies are hosting Miss Piggy's Bag Lady event, which will start on Friday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. Huseby said that those who attend will be given treats and the chance to fill up a bag of clothes for $10.

"The store is packed," Huseby said.

The store will continue the Miss Piggy's Bag Lady event on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Harvest Fest Dance

The Dolores Secondary Schools Parent/Teacher Org will host a Harvest Fest Dance, Sept. 20 from 8 p.m. until midnight at The Cortez Elks Lodge. The event is open to the public, and tickets cost $5 at the door. You must be 18 or older to attend. Proceeds benefit the middle and high schools.

Don't forget the Goose meeting

All you history and train buffs out there, don't forget the Galloping Goose Historical Society's annual meeting Sept. 13. Call 882-7082 for location and information.
