“The Starry Night” was painted in 1889 by Vincent van Gogh.

A conversation about van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” will be the topic of the final virtual presentation in the Fort Lewis College free lecture series at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Now in its 21st year, the Life-long Learning series has continued to offer programs on a variety of topics even with COVID-19 restrictions. Audience members can access the presentation at 7 p.m. by going to fortlewis.edu/LLL for a link to launch the Zoom webinar.

Journalist Judith Reynolds and retired English professor Carol Schmudde will revisit van Gogh’s great painting, some of the poetry it has inspired, new theories about the artist’s death and controversial immersive installations that are opening across Europe and America.

The presentation will be recorded and can be viewed for a week after Thursday’s live presentation. The Life-long Learning project is co-sponsored by the Office of the President and the Professional Associates of FLC.
