Disturbing the peace

8:15 p.m. A police officer was called to City Market after a man urinated on the building. The man denied the allegation and said he thought it would be better if he wet his pants. He showed the officer the dark stain on his pants. The officer wrote in the report that he seemed intoxicated. An employee identified the man as the one who urinated on the building, and the officer arrested the man for disturbing the peace.
Criminal mischief, resisting arrest and assault

10:28 p.m. An officer was asked to take a report of property damage near 25 North Beech St. While talking with other officers, the officer noticed a man watching him from the corner of the building. When the officer questioned him, the man said: “I’m paid to watch all of you, but they don’t really like you.” The man had a bottle of whiskey, but the officer found that the man was restrained from alcohol by court order. After hearing the radio traffic about his court orders, the man who had been watching the police took off running on North Market Street. The police caught him by his shirt, and the man fell to the ground. The man struggled. When he was placed in the back of the patrol car, he head-butted the divider and said he was going to kill the officer and his family. He kicked out a back window in the police car. The officer stopped the car and had another officer bring him a hobble for the man’s legs so that he couldn’t kick. An officer rolled down one of the windows in the car to prevent more damage, and the man spit in his face. When he got to jail, he was charged with violating a protection order, third-degree assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

2:07 p.m. A woman was arrested in Susie’s gift shop for violating a restraining order that prevented her from being in contact with a particular man. The two were found looking at merchandise in the shop. The woman tried to resist arrest and said she hadn’t done anything wrong.
Burglary

10:05 a.m. A woman reported that someone had entered her home on Elm Street and took a broom, a tent and a fake pearl necklace on July 9. She said she hadn’t reported it because she didn’t want to bother police. She said things had gone missing from her yard in recent months, but this was the first time things were taken from her house.
