5:27 p.m. A man was arrested after he knifed another man from the neck to the shoulder on the 200 block of South Madison. The man who was arrested had been fighting with his sister. Her cousin tackled the man and was cut during the scuffle. The brother and sister had been fighting about a car.

Saturday, July 5

2:56 p.m. A man involved in an assault at the Chevron on South Broadway tried to run from police. The police officer followed the man on foot into the field near Jiffy Lube. Both men fell, and the chase continued into the backyard of a home where the man tried to hide. The officer arrested him.

2:39 p.m. A man was arrested after an assault in City Park. A witness said she saw the man beat up another man who was sleeping in the park.

Burglary

Thursday, July 3

10:51 a.m. A person reported that two teenage girls were trying to break into the Roadway Inn. The girls allegedly had broken into Room 245 and trashed it. Before the officer arrived, the girls ran east on Main Street. When the girls were caught, one placed the blame on the other. The damage and lost revenue from the room was about $500. Stolen property was also recovered.

Harassment

Wednesday, July 2

9:12 p.m. A man reported a woman staying at Aneth Lodge was harassing him by phone. Every time the woman called she said “I’m coming for you.” The man said he didn’t know the woman.
