Water Superintendent Jack Fredricksen made a report to the town board at their regular meeting Tuesday night stating that the water intake above town is fixed with an 18 inch CMP line which will keep the town water ponds full and the water pressure up. Next on the water schedule is to finish the water line on Central Avenue then move on to the sewer line behind Economy Supply.

While the state of Colorado boasted a 12.5 percent increase in retail sales, Dolores and Cortez saw retail sales dropped.

Mrs. Clyde Steel and Mrs. Ernie Nunn were hostesses to a baby shower given for Inez Ribera at Carolyn Nunn's home, Wednesday the 26th of JUne. Twelve guests were present.

Anyone calling the Star office will likely be answered by the pleasant voice of Miss Kay Cline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cline of this city, who will be working at the Star during the summer months on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Miss Cline is a 1974 graduate of Dolores High School.

Entries to a talent show sponsored by the summer recreation program should be made by July 20. The talent show will be held in the school gym and sound equipment will be made available.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Squires and children from Green river, Wyoming were visiting the Jack Baird and Lee Squires' home last week. Todd Squires is spending the month of July with them.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat McCarty of Prescott, Ariz., visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baird over the weekend. Burl Berry and Rusty from Santa Anna, Calif. are here visiting his sister, Cecil Taylor and brother, Bruce Berry. More relatives are expected for the 4th, when a reunion is usually held.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brenner attended a hamburger fry and ice cream party at Dr. Underwood's last week. It was for the Shakey's softball team.

Mr. and Mrs. MIlton Roberts, Roberta Greenley and Farrell Melody and Gidget Tibbetts were at the T. H. Brook's home Friday evening for a potluck dinner. Cleda Stephens, a sister of Mrs. Brook's is here visiting from Roseburg, Oregon.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lofquist will spend the 4th of July weekend at the Jim Cline summer cabin.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Brewer are entertaining several relatives during the 4th. They include Mr. and Mrs. Bert Koon from Durango, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brewer form Tucson, Arizona, and Mr. and Mrs. Al Torske from Cortez.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Brewer will attend the 10th year class reunion of Don's class this weekend in Durango.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene McFarland were here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Pat Burns last week. they are from Farmington.
