How green is my garden?

Things are looking wonderful at the Dolores school garden. Megan Tallmadge has a green thumb and has been working hard this summer. Don't forget the family volunteer nights Tuesday evenings from 4 to 7 p.m. Tallmadge is working to get the garden ready when students return and is creating learning centers, including an outdoor oven (more information about that to come.)

Bear football looking strong

Things are reportedly going well for the Dolores High School Bears Football team over the off-season. Off-season practice attendance has doubled over last year.

Video stars

Over the past two years, students at Dolores schools have been involved in a pilot program funded through the Colorado Education Initiative, partners with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Our students participated in a Student Perception Survey. Film crews from the organization visited Dolores schools this spring and the resulting video includes many familiar faces from our Dolores students. The students look great and are well-spoken. See the video at https://vimeo.com/98937432.

Students were asked to fill out the survey based on two random teachers they have. The questions focused on the classroom community, classroom management and student learning.

Students in the video said they felt that the survey made a difference in their education, and they felt their opinion was valued.
