Montezuma County offers free drive-up COVID-19 testing

As of Wednesday, Feb.3, the Montezuma County Public Health Department reported 1,617 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the county.

Montezuma County Health Department is offering free drive-up testing every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southwest Health System’s EMS Building.

The effort is a collaboration between Montezuma County Health Department and Southwest Health System.

The free testing is first-come, first-served. No appointments are required.

Testing is available for everyone. Individuals are not required to show symptoms to get a test.

Those getting a test are required to bring identification, such as a driver’s license.

As of Wednesday, Feb. 3, the Montezuma County Public Health Department reported 1,617 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the county. Of those cases, 430 are active, and 1,167 have been resolved.

Thirteen deaths have been attributed to the novel coronavirus in Montezuma County since the beginning of the pandemic. An additional seven people have died after testing positive for the coronavirus, but the virus was not the cause of death.
