Competing with many of Colorado's top wrestlers at the Paonia Duals, June 14-15, several Dolores High School wrestlers performed well.

Chief among those was sophomore Richard Martinez, who, continuing to dominate as he has all summer, won every match at the Duals, which featured more than 400 competitors.

Also wrestling well were Dustin Beltran, Tristan Medina, Guy Wallace and Riley Syra, who, as a group, won roughly 80 percent of their matches.

Beltran was especially impressive, pinning two wrestlers who placed at last year's state tournament.

"It's coming together," said Dolores High School head coach Leo Garand. "They're wrestling great. It was the second tournament in a row where we went out and dominated."

With the bulk of their early summer tournaments now behind them, Dolores wrestlers will continue working out to prepare for events that take place in July.
