Excited to play golf and benefit a good cause, golfers hit the links at Conquistador Golf Course for the 13th Annual Hospice of Montezuma Golf Tournament.

Held on May 17, the tournament attracted 130 golfers of varying ages and abilities, who, taking advantage of warm weather, put together several impressive scores.

Finishing first in the tournament was a team made up of Sherri Franchini, Don Higman, Lou George, Ken Torres and Gary Unrein.

Taking second in the tournament was a team composed of Josh Cornett, Isaque Martinez, Denise Miller, Cora Monarco and Mike Manarco.

The golf tournament was a major fundraiser for Hospice of Montezuma and was made possible by several sponsors who donated funding and prizes.

Among the tournament’s 38 sponsors was Keesee Motor Company, which brought excitement to the competition by sponsoring a hole-in-one contest, which offered vehicles as prizes.

Although no tournament participants managed to score a hole-in-one on the day, two golfers came close.

Hospice of Montezuma would like to thank all its sponsors, Conquistador Golf Course and every player who participated in the tournament.

Next year’s tournament will take place on May 16, 2015.
