8:35 a.m. : A piece of heavy equipment worth $40,000 was stolen from the high school construction site behind Wal-Mart. Nunn Construction workers suspected the steer loader had been taken over the weekend.

Thursday May 29

7:20 p.m. Four officers pulled over three people in a white Ford F-150 truck. One of the men had four warrants out for his arrest including the arrest of law enforcement officer. The man had a small glass pipe wrapped in a white paper towel in his front pocket with dark residue in it. After the man was taken to jail the officer asked him what the pipe was used for and he told the officer it was a meth pipe. The man also told the officer he had meth in his pants.

Thursday May 29

12:24 p.m. A woman was robbed while she was putting air in her tires in front of the Giant Station on Main Street. She saw feet on the other side of the car and when she stood up she saw the man running from her car. She attempted to chase the man but fell and hurt her knee. Her purse containing her credit card, driver’s license, and some personal cash was taken. The woman is a Beall’s employee and the store’s bank deposit bag carrying company money was also stolen.
