Funds needed to maintain recycling

How many of you would be willing to pay to keep the recycle bins in Mancos and Dolores?

We went over to drop off some cardboard and it was literally packed to the ceiling along with a bunch of cardboard outside the bin. So we put some of the mixed paper in that part of the bin and quickly closed the door so it wouldn’t fall out, that part was pretty full too.

On the side of the bin a sign stated that pick-up would only occur twice a month, beginning in February. I called the recycling company and asked when they would be by to pick up the full bin and was told March 8. I then asked what it would take to have them come in four times a month. I was told that because the commodities market was down and if they didn’t get any funds, they would have to stop the service altogether.

That would be a terrible thing. I know that Mancos and Dolores are environmentally conscious and want this recycle service to continue. How do we do that? I am willing to donate money to keep it going, how about you?
