After finishing the regular season with a 7-9 record, the Dolores High School baseball team is set to compete in the West Slope District Tournament this weekend.
One of eight teams playing in the Tournament, the Bears must finish in the top two to advance to regionals.
Dolores will open against Meeker High School (1-15) at 3:30 p.m. on May 9. Stetson Hamilton will start on the mound for the Bears.
If Dolores beats Meeker, the Bears will advance to a second-round matchup against Hotchkiss High School (16-3), which would take place on May 10 at 12:30 p.m.
"Hotchkiss is a good team," said Bears' manager Rusty Hamilton. "We're going to have to play fundamental baseball and we're going to have to hit."
If Dolores wins against Hotchkiss, the Bears would advance to the championship game, which would take place at 3:00 p.m. on May 10.
All tournament games will take place at Parque de Vida in Cortez.
