Eating smart, being active

The Piñon Project will be offering a series of Eating Smart - Being Active classes for seniors age 60 and over, who want to learn about preparing healthier meals and bringing a basic level of activity into their lives. Kelly Proctor, as facilitator, will lead the group through eight lessons designed to help them shop, cook and enjoy entry-level activity.

The classes give you ideas for a healthier life. You will work as a team to develop healthy and tasty recipes. You will create delicious snacks and light meals in the class while developing friendships along with new and useful skills. Classes are further enhanced with small take away incentives useful for use in food preparation and activity.

The classes will start May 15, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Classes will be held at the County Annex Building in Cortez. There is no charge for this program. Class size is limited; sign up with Kelly Proctor at 970-564-1195, ext. 126.
