Saturday, July 2

5:41 p.m.: A deputy advised a host at the House Creek Campground at McPhee Reservoir that he was not authorized to reach into an ATV and take keys from its ignition, even though the ATVs aren’t allowed in the campground. The ATV driver agreed to park in the dock area, and he and the host agreed to stay away from each other for the rest of the day.

Wednesday, July 6

7:43 a.m.: A woman reported that her rental car was stolen from a residence near County Roads 38 and P in Mancos. A deputy’s phone followup call to another person on July 11 wasn’t answered.

Thursday, July 7

7:03 p.m.: A cashier at a liquor store in the 24000 block of County Road G.2 reported that he swung a baseball bat at three men who demanded money. He said the men fled in a lifted, silver Dodger pickup truck.

9:31 a.m.: A Spanish-speaking employee at a farm in the 27800 block of U.S. 491 was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital with a head injury after flipping an off-road vehicle in a field.

10:27 a.m.: An inmate at the Montezuma County jail was served a warrant.

1:50 p.m.: A restaurant in the 100 block of S. 11th St. in Dolores reported the theft of two wood planters valued at a total of $100.

Friday, July 8

11 a.m.: A driver was pulled over on U.S. 160/491 and ticketed for driving with fictitious plates and a suspended license from Iowa.

7:02 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 23600 block of County Road F.5 on suspicion of menacing and resisting arrest after allegedly throwing rocks and brandishing a knife at a man and woman who had walked by his porch.

2 p.m.: A man was given a summons for criminal mischief at a residence in the 11200 block of U.S. 491 after video surveillance revealed that he might have cut wires on his neighbor’s surveillance camera.

9:55 a.m.: A man reported that someone had slashed two tires on two vehicles parked at his residence in the 21900 County Road B.7.

7:30 p.m.: A man with an outstanding warrant was arrested in the 200 block of Central Ave. in Dolores.

Saturday, July 9

4:46 a.m.: A man was arrested at a residence in the 24900 block of County Road T in Dolores after he allegedly pounded on his neighbor’s door with a hammer. He admitted having smoked meth and claimed that three men with bats were pursuing him. He was cleared by the hospital and jailed on suspicion of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

6:04 p.m.: A man at a residence in the 41700 block of Colorado Highway 184 reported that someone had apparently tried to break into his home while he was out, damaging the lock.

Sunday, July 10

5:22 p.m.: A woman successfully performed roadside DUI tests in the 900 block of E. Main St. after a deputy smelled alcohol coming from her vehicle. (She had argued that someone had spilled alcohol in the vehicle). She was then was arrested on an active warrant.

11:30 p.m.: A man towing a boat in the 12000 block of Colorado 145 was pulled over for lacking brakelights on his trailer, then given a summons for DUI and defective brakelights, and given a verbal warning for no proof of insurance and out-of-state registration for his trailer.

Monday, July 11

3:17 p.m.: A man in the 23200 block of County Road M reported that an unknown animal had killed four of his lambs, valued at a total of $1,200. The deputy requested that the case be forwarded to Parks and Wildlife because of reports of mountain lions in the area.

5:46 p.m.: A man received a summons for an alleged third-degree assault occurring in the 28300 block of County Road K.2 after a dispute with a neighbor.

Tuesday, July 12

4:44 p.m.: A driver was pulled over in the 7000 block of County Road 25 because objects hanging from her rearview mirror may have obstructed her view. She was arrested on an active warrant.

Thursday, July 14

1:40 p.m.: Two rusty and inoperable revolvers were found by two children in the Dolores River just south of the Outpost Hotel in the 1400 block of Central Ave. in Dolores.
