It seems that now Empire Electric is now set to gouge the customers with its new facility. The new facility charge is $30 per month and is for the meter that is mounted at the customers’ homes. What benefit do you get? Nothing! It allows Empire to determine how many kilowatts you use. The only reason I see for this charge is a way for it to pay for their new relocation. Again, there is no benefit for the customer — most of us would drive farther to their new facility. Any name you put on it, it still feels like a scam.
