I find it ironic that the Montezuma Patriots, who hold the American flag in such high esteem, have chosen to desecrate the same flag. According to Title 4 of the U.S. Code, Sections 1 and 2: “The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be 48 stars, white in a blue field (July 30, 1947). How are Montezuma Patriots able to change the colors of the flag from red, white and blue to black and white?
The Montezuma Patriots’ appropriation of the American flag shows their disregard for regulations, protocols and traditions; their apparent ignorance of how to properly display and respect the American flag; and the utter hypocrisy of their so-called patriotism.
