We finally know why President Trump refuses to release his tax returns. Documents recently uncovered by The New York Times show that unlike the typical billionaire, who pays tens of millions to the federal government, he pays next to nothing. He paid no federal income taxes in 11 of the 18 years between 2000 and 2017. In 2016 and 2017, he paid $750. He does this by cheating, like taking a $70,000 deduction for haircuts. A single person living just above the poverty line making $18,000 a year pays about $750 in income taxes. How about you? He contributes nothing to our great country. His behavior is unpatriotic and despicable.
