Sunday, Aug. 14

2:20 a.m.: An intoxicated man lying on the sidewalk was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest at S. Beech St. and E. Main St. A second intoxicated man was released to a family member.

3:26 a.m.: A man was cited for eluding police, driving 80 mph in a 65 mph zone and possessing drug paraphernalia after leading officers on a pursuit from northbound Colorado Highway 145 to County Road P, southbound on Colorado 145 to westbound E. Main St, northbound on Sligo St. to E. Empire St., and westbound on E. Empire St. to Texas St., where he exited his vehicle. He was cited, he refused to sign the summons, and he was released.

12:19 p.m.: A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County jail.

5:17 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 300 block of S. Linden St.

7:30 p.m.: A man was cited for being intoxicated in the roadway in the 700 block of E. Second St.

8:55 p.m.: A man who said he’d been beaten by three men was found at Washington and North streets and treated for bodily injuries at Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Monday, Aug. 15

2:24 p.m.: A woman at the Sheriff’s Office was arrested on a warrant from El Paso County, Colorado.

8:36 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County jail was served warrants for manufacturing a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance, motor vehicle theft and theft. A woman was served two warrants for possessing with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and no insurance.

2:41 a.m.: Two men were arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace after two fights outside City Market, 508 E. Main St.

8:38 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving with a revoked license, criminal mischief and domestic violence in the 400 block of E. Main St. after an argument with a woman in the 300 block of S. Ash St. The woman declined to file speak with a victim’s advocate, but reported that the man had broken a phone worth $850 and a table worth $350.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

8:30 a.m.: A man was cited for dumping his personal trash in the container at the Cortez Welcome Center, 928 E. Main St.

9:50 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace after urinating outside the Cortez Welcome Center, 928 E. Main St.

1:15 p.m.: An abandoned safe was found at the Johnson Building, 925 S. Broadway. No safes had been reported stolen in the city or county.

6:20 p.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park for disturbing the peace and possessing marijuana.

7:17 p.m.: A man and woman were arrested on warrants at a residence in the 200 block of E. Seventh Ave.

8:43 p.m.: A man was pulled over at N. Mildred Road and Cottonwood St. for driving with his high beams on and then arrested on a warrant from Midland County, Texas.

11:55 p.m.: An intoxicated man was cited for trespassing at Cortez City Park.
