Thursday, Aug. 27

11:47 a.m. A vehicle was broken into in the 28200 block of U.S. Highway 160. The title and registration were stolen. The vehicle was locked, but the window was partially rolled down. There were no suspects.

Thursday, Sept. 3

7:17 p.m. An abandoned vehicle was reported at Dolores Community Center, 400 Riverside Ave. The owner had recently been incarcerated. A 48-hour notice to remove was placed on the vehicle.

7:37 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion for burning trash during a fire ban in the 24000 block of County Road L. The fire was unattended and had spread outside the fire barrel.

Monday, Sept. 7

3:33 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of driving on a suspended license in the 10000 block of U.S. Highway 491. The driver’s license was revoked, and he had no registration or insurance on the vehicle.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

8:53 a.m. A found firearm was reported in the 18600 block of Highway 145. A man who had rented the cabin left the firearm in a dresser drawer and notified the owner. The owner did not feel comfortable holding it and asked the Sheriff’s Office to hold it for the owner.

7:35 p.m. Two men were arrested on active warrants for failure to appear in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160. A BIA officer held the men face-down at gunpoint until a deputy arrived and they were taken into custody.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

7:48 p.m. A male inmate was served a warrant for flight to avoid prosecution at Montezuma County Detention Center, 720 E. Driscoll St.

9:01 a.m. A found wallet was reported at the CDOT garage, 5910 U.S. Highway 160. The wallet was taken into safe keeping until the owner could retrieve it.

10:17 a.m. Fence panels were reported stolen in the 9000 block of County Road BB in the previous three to four days. There were no suspects.

12:11 p.m. A male inmate was served a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 720 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, Sept. 10

12:23 p.m. A female inmate was served a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 720 E. Driscoll St.

2:12 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a fire ban in the 30000 block of County Road H. It was extinguished before the deputy left.

Friday, Sept. 11

10:11 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of violating a fire ban in the 30000 block of County Road H. It was extinguished before the deputy left.

4:10 p.m. A man was arrested on a felony warrant in the 30000 block of County Road S.6. A deputy was on scene for a civil standby while the man removed a small house built on a trailer. The man was taken into custody.

Saturday, Sept. 12

2:42 p.m. A found wallet was reported at a store in the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores. The wallet was found in the restroom by another customer, and the owner was contacted.

9:02 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in the 43300 block of County Road M, Mancos. A man reported that a woman he was involved with was driving carelessly and had attempted to hit him, had blocked the property exit and was trying to slash the tires of the vehicle. There was no evidence to support the claim, and no citations were issued.

Sunday, Sept. 13

9:44 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and speeding in the 2100 block of County Road G. Radar showed the vehicle driving at 74 mph in a 50 mph zone. A deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, and the vehicle continued driving in speeds in excess of 75 mph, almost causing several crashes. The driver eventually pulled over and appeared intoxicated. He was taken into custody.

Monday, Sept. 14

1:52 p.m. A break-in was reported in the 27400 block of U.S. Highway 160. Deputies determined the woman was on the lease and had claim to the furniture.
