The Cortez Fire Protection District is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters. The deadline to apply is April 18.
Candidates must have a desire to serve the community and a sense of dedication. The department would provide training.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and are required to pass a three-phase testing process including a written exam, physical ability test and oral interview. Candidates must also pass a drug/alcohol test.
Applications can be picked up at the administration office, 23 N. Washington St., Cortez, and all applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, April 18. Testing will take place on Saturday, April 19.
