Tuesday, Aug. 11

1:40 p.m. A mailbox was damaged in the 17400 block of County Road 27.7. The property owner suspected a grader operator damaged the mailbox while grading the road. The driver claimed the mailbox and one other had been damaged before he began his work.

Wednesday, Aug. 12

4:24 p.m. A license plate was reported stolen in the 23600 block of County Road F.5, and switched for a California plate.

Friday, Aug. 21

1:46 p.m. Front and rear license plates were reported stolen. The plates were last seen two days earlier.

Sunday, Aug. 30

5:52 p.m. A vehicle crashed into a fence in the 100 block of Railroad Avenue. The driver fell asleep and drove off the road. No citations were issued.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

2:07 p.m. A male inmate was served a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:24 p.m. A male inmate was served a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:03 p.m. A female inmate was served a warrant for failure to appear on a paraphernalia possession charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, Sept. 3

9:51 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of an illegal controlled burn in the 7800 block of County Road 25. The man said he was unaware of the statewide fire ban.

1:13 p.m. Fraud was reported in the 24500 block of County Road V.4. A man and woman’s personal information was used to fraudulently obtain two cell phone and a wireless contract with Verizon in Portland, Oregon. Portland law enforcement was notified.

8:48 p.m. A male inmate was served warrants for failure to comply and failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, Sept. 4

7:51 a.m. A male inmate was served a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Sunday, Sept. 6

7:54 p.m. Someone caused damage to four vehicles by doing donuts in a truck in the parking lot at Totten Lake. The vehicle threw gravel the vehicles, causing cracked and broken windows and impact damage. The vehicle was not located.

Monday, Sept. 7

2:09 p.m. A man was cited for burning during a fire ban in the 1500 block of South Broadway. The man was been warned previously that he needed to contact Cortez Dispatch any time he intended to burn.
