After finishing second in Indianapolis on March 1, Monster Energy AMA Supercross series rider Eli Tomac appeared primed to break out.

Tomac’s breakout was delayed, however, due to various injuries that forced him to sit out races in Daytona, Detroit and Toronto.

Finally healthy last weekend, Tomac returned to action in St. Louis on March 29, finishing sixth overall in a field that included many of the world’s best riders.

Discussing his results after the race, Tomac expressed both satisfaction and a desire to perform better in the future.

“It was an okay race, I’d say,” Tomac was quoted as saying. “I wanted more, to be honest, but we’ll keep working at it. I had some really good laps and we’re healthy, so we have something positive happening right now.”

Hoping to continue in his quest to return to form, Tomac will next compete in Houston on April 5.
