Monday, July 13

10:15 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft, first-degree criminal trespass, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief in the 9000 block of County Road 27. A suspicious person was reported, and a man admitted stealing. He was in possession of a stolen motorcycle, which was seized.

Saturday, July 18

8:28 a.m. Property damage was reported in the 100 block of South Fifth Avenue. A moped’s headlight and front fender were damaged. The owner had argued with tenant prior to the damage.

Tuesday, July 28

8:24 a.m. A chain saw was reported stolen in the 18600 block of County Road 23.5. A suspect was seen walking to a mill and taking the saw.

Saturday, Aug. 1

12:59 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen in the 25100 block of County Road F.2. The vehicle was involved in a crash at 6:30 a.m. The driver fled the scene.

Monday, Aug. 3

4:03 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 20700 block of County Road 19. A woman said her husband was consuming alcohol, in violation of a protection order.

4:46 p.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:56 p.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

4:30 p.m. An inmate was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. He allegedly smashed two monitors with a broom.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

11:09 a.m. A verbal warning was issued to a woman in the 27000 block of Colorado Highway 184. A man reported a woman driving a red Jeep trespassing on his property. She reported she was run off the road by a semitrailer and was confronted by the property owner. Officers determined no criminal activity had occurred.

Thursday, Aug. 6

8:33 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief, domestic violence, violating a protection order, harassment and first-degree trespass in the 5600 block of County Road 25. A woman’s ex-boyfriend allegedly chased her in his vehicle, broke the car window and tried to drag her from the vehicle.

11:57 a.m. A laptop was reported stolen in the 27700 block of County Road T. An employee allegedly quit his job and would not return a laptop until he got his paycheck. The laptop was returned. No charges were filed.

12:31 p.m. A woman was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:04 p.m. Identity theft was reported in the 23500 block of County Road L. A woman received a U.S. Bank debit card, used for unemployment funds, though she had not applied for it.

3:58 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of driving without a valid license in the 9000 block of County Road 27.

4:09 p.m. A man was remanded into custody at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Friday, Aug. 7

3:19 p.m. A male inmate was served with two warrants for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, Aug. 8

8:30 a.m. A prowler and theft was reported in the 32200 block of U.S. Highway 160. A vehicle apparently drove onto the property, and about $1,500 in maple and oak planks were missing.

9:41 a.m. An officer dispatched for a welfare check discovered marijuana plants in the 6700 block of County Road 24.2. The owner provided a hemp license and medical marijuana card. Plants outside the enclosure were ordered to be removed.

8:52 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of harassment in the 12800 block of County Road 29. A man allegedly was blowing an air horn to upset his neighbor’s animals because the neighbor’s roosters crowed early in the morning.

Monday, Aug. 10

1:01 p.m. A motor home was blocking traffic in the 26000 block of County Road L. While the driver attempted to turn the vehicle, the hitch became embedded in the asphalt. Officers provided traffic control until the motor home was removed.

Tuesday, Aug. 11

2:45 p.m. A firearm was reported missing in the 21500 block of County Road E. It was last seen three weeks earlier.

4:40 p.m. An abandoned vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 491 and County Road L was towed.

Wednesday, Aug. 12

1:57 p.m. A large amount of processed marijuana was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office in the 14900 block of County Road 26. A new property owner discovered the marijuana and remnants of a large grow.

Thursday, Aug. 13

8:37 a.m. Trespassing was reported in the 18100 block of County Road DD. The property owner allowed two men to camp on his property until they could find somewhere to live, then refused to vacate the property.

9:45 a.m. A man was remanded into custody at Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St.

8:48 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the 27000 block of County Road T. A suspicious vehicle drove away with a missing front tire and threw off sparks. Officers pulled the vehicle over, and a small fire ignited. Officers helped the occupants from the vehicle and observed empty beer cans of the floor and that the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

Saturday, Aug. 15

8:34 a.m. A dog allegedly bit a runner in the 1700 block of County Road 27.9. The dog’s owner said the woman liked to bother the dogs, but agreed to confine the dog.

2:16 p.m. A reported shoplifting case in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores, was unfounded.

7:10 p.m. Identity theft was reported in the 27900 block of County Road P. A man received a U.S. Bank debit card, used to apply for unemployment, which he had not applied for.

Sunday, Aug. 16

3:48 p.m. A driver ran from the scene in the 16000 block of County Road 24 after a stolen car crashed into a telephone pole. Witnesses identified the suspect.

Monday, Aug. 17

7:56 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 19000 block of County Road 34.4. A man who had been released from prison was illegally on his wife’s property.

10:54 p.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant out of Fort Collins for first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft in the 2200 block of Hawkins Street. After a reported disturbance at Baymont Inn, a suspect was arrested on a warrant.

1:33 p.m. A male inmate was served with a warrant for failure to comply at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:34 p.m. A male inmate was served with a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Aug. 19

12: 08 a.m. A small fire was reported in the 100 block of East Fifth Street, Dolores. The assistant fire chief suspected it was started by discarded cigarette butts thrown from a building.
